چکیده

SPITZER, ADRIAN, AND ERICH E. WINDHAGER. Efect of peritubular oncotic pressure changes on proximal tubular @id reabsorption. Am. J. Physiol. 218(4): 1188-l 193. 1970.-To evaluate directly the effect of changes in postglomerular capillary blood oncotic pressure on fluid reabsorption by proximal tubules of rat kidneys, an in vivo method of microperfusion of peritubular capillaries was devised. Net fluid reabsorption by tubules receiving their vascular supply from artificially perfused capillaries was studied by tubular micropuncture. In free-flow recollection experiments, the absolute rate of fluid reabsorption decreased by 49% when the capillaries were perfused with colloid-free Ringer solution. When the perfusate was Ringer solution containing 8 % dextran (mol wt 110,000) proximal tubular reabsorptive rates were similar to those obtained during normal blood perfusion of capillaries. A direct relationship was observed, in “split-drop” experiments, between net reabsorption and calculated oncotic pressure of the infusate. The mean reabsorptive capacity of proximal tubules increased from 0.031 nl/sec l mm during capillary perfusion with Ringer, to 0.046 during perfusion with 4oj, dextran in Ringer, and to 0.060 when the concentration of dextran was increased to 8yo.

A study in vivo of peritubular oncotic pressure and proximal tubular reabsorption in the rat.

1. Peritubular capillary microperfusion was used to examine the effects of protein-free and hyperoncotic homologous plasma on fluid reabsorption by proximal convoluted tubules in the hydropenic rat. 3H-labelled p-aminohippurate was added to perfusates for the purpose of estimating the extent to which tubules under study were bathed by the perfusates. [14C]Mannitol was added to perfusates in ord...

Osmotically induced changes in electrical resistance of distal tubules of rat kidney.

Changes in peritubular oncotic pressure do not alter the electrical resistance of distal convoluted tubules. Transverse specific electrical resistance decreases along the distal convoluted tubule in nondiuretic rats. This drop in resistance can be at least in part accounted for by the relative increae in osmolality of late distal fluid. Osmotic gradients influence the magnitude of intercellular...

Effects of secretin on peritubular capillary physical factors and proximal fluid reabsorption in the rat.

The effects of secretin vasodilation on peritubular capillary Starling forces and absolute proximal reabsorption were examined in the rat. Secretin was infused at 75 mU/kg per min into the aorta above the left renal artery. Efferent plasma flow increased from 125 +/- 28 to 230 +/- 40 nl/min with secretin infusion. Single nephron filtration rate (44 +/- 6 vs. 44 +/- 7 nl/min) and absolute proxim...
